European style homes

European style homes are some of the most stunning looking in the world; exciting and classical to look and live in! A distinctive feature of this style school is many layered roof lines and presence of many gables; giving those interesting looks.

The flowing and undulating front façade supplies a castle or medieval aura and feeling. The exterior building material will usually be stone, brick or a combination of two or more materials. Being luxurious homes, they are usually two storied with plenty of amenities bundled inside. European style decor is unique, in the sense that several new features are quite revolutionary in contrast to other styles.

Some of the very standard adaptable features are:

  • The bedroom is usually divided in to two distinct areas: the softly feminine sleeping area and the masculine study/office that is separated from the sleeping area by a level change and rich, warm color.
  • Bathing areas are too grand; arches are used to create an elegant feeling in the large bath. An arch defines the entry to the sink area and is used again over the bathtub and vanity mirrors.
  • Usage of exquisite lighting fixtures; costly chandeliers on the ceilings and designer recess lights with halogen lamps on the sidewalls.
  • Attached rotunda on the exterior wall leading straight in to kitchen or living room.
  • Use a variety of fabrics in the room. Fabrics with floral and plaid patterns help to achieve a country look that appears to have progressed over time.
  • Incorporate collections in the room that are special to the family.
  • The white marble fireplace is the room’s focal point. The color scheme is soft and beautiful: pastel shades of pink, blue, green and yellow.
  • Opulent fabrics of varying materials and colors add warmth and texture to the room.
  • Cove lighting adds a soft glow above the ceiling’s dentil moldings. A crystal chandelier in the center of the room adds light in a grand style.
  • The large bathroom, divided into smaller sectors, uses traditional materials but has modern functioning. There are two separate water closets that contain sinks and vanities; hers is decorated in a soft, feminine style, while his has walls upholstered with fabric imprinted with soldiers and lions.
  • French doors are always the de facto doors and are emphasized with long, elegant panels of striped silk with tiebacks, which allow sunlight to trickle into the room.
  • Classic oil paintings or modern art pieces adorning walls, add depth to walls and a feeling of class.
  • Substantial numbers of furniture in the room, plethora of textiles on wall and fabrics.
  • Natural elements with eternal looks, especially wood and stone. Absolutely no traces of steel or chrome.
  • Stone surfaces that are cleanly polished for worn look. Marbles and weathered ceramic tiles are often the preferred choices.

European style decoration displays a distinctive class of opulence and aristocracy; each room is purely European in look and is classy and luxurious to feel.
